Coach Kercso is a good friend of mine and an outstanding colleague in the basketball coaching fraternity. I had the opportunity to work alongside him for several months as his mentor in Romania’s First League. First and foremost, I want to highlight the large number of players he has developed from the ground up. It was a real pleasure working with both Coach Kercso and the players shaped under his guidance — disciplined, ambitious, attentive, and well-educated young athletes. Zoli is an extremely hard-working coach with a daily drive to improve and compete at the highest level. He has the confidence and humility to ask questions, seek advice, and request support whenever he feels he cannot yet provide his players with the highest-quality answers. In my opinion, that is one of the greatest qualities a coach can possess. What stood out most to me was his constant focus on individual player development and his determination to surprise opponents with well-prepared tactical adjustments and game strategies. At the same time, he is a lifelong learner, continuously investing in himself through high-level coaching clinics and professional courses. I truly hope he reaches the level he aspires to — coaching in a strong, competitive league where he can fully showcase his talent and basketball mind. Great coach who builds players.

We started working together at U19 level. From the very first season, I believed in him — and he earned it every single day. He didn’t just develop me as a player. He taught me what discipline means. What mentality means. And what it really means to work for the team. From youth basketball… to the 2nd division… and eventually to the professional level. That journey doesn’t happen by chance. It happens because of coaches who demand more. Who see more. Who build more. I’m proud of the work we’ve done — and even more proud of the person he has become.
